Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended to watch the final match of the men’s football tournament of inter-university under the Ministry of Science and Technology and awarded prizes to the relevant teams at the prize awarding ceremony at Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The Senior General and party watched the final match between the University of Computer Studies (Lower Myanmar) team A and Technological University (Upper Myanmar) team A in the men’s football tournament.
As it was the final match, both teams posed pressure on each other starting from the match.
The player of the Technological University (Upper Myanmar) team A scored an opening goal by showing off his brilliant skills to his team in the leading role in the seventh minute.
At the final whistle, the Technological University (Upper Myanmar) team A clinched the title with a 4-1 win over the University of Computer Studies (Lower Myanmar) team A.
Next, Union Ministers Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and U Win Shein, SAC Members U Yan Kyaw, U Shwe Kyein, Dr Kyaw Tun and Dr Aung Kyaw Min presented prizes to the best players.
SAC Member Dr Hmu Htan presented individual medals, prizes and cash awards to the fourth-prize-winning University of Computer Studies (Upper Myanmar) team B while member Daw Dwe Bu to the third-prize-winning Technological University (Lower Myanmar) team A and member Admiral Tin Aung San to the second-prize-winning University of Computer Studies (Lower Myanmar) team A.
Then, SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo presented individual medals to the players of the first-prize-winning Technological University (Upper Myanmar) team A.
The Senior General presented cash awards and the championship trophy to the first-prize-winning Technological University (Upper Myanmar) team A.
After the prize-awarding ceremony, the Senior General cordially greeted the athletes.
The football tournament of inter-university under the Ministry of Science and Technology was held with 14 teams by four groups starting on 28 March aiming to develop Myanma sports and produce outstanding selected athletes through the sports festivals. —MNA/KTZH
