State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing pays the inspection tour around the building of maternal and newborn babies care at Magway Hospital yesterday.

State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspected the newly constructed three-storey building for Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Neonatal in Magway General Hospital yesterday.
First, Magway Region Public Health Department Head Dr Thaung Hlaing, Medical Superintendent Dr Win Nilar Hla and health workers welcomed the SAC Chairman.
Then, Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win briefed the Senior General on the construction of the three-storey building with the assistance of the Japanese government in collaboration with the ministry and JICA, hospital equipment installation and supportive learning sectors for the University of Medicine in Magway.
Regarding the presentation, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister said the Life expectancy of people living in Magway Region is 65 years and the average life expectancy of the country is 67.42 years. As the infant mortality in Magway Region is high, the current three-storey maternal and newborn babies care building will bring many benefits to the region.
There were 2,318 patients who gave birth in the region in 2021. As Magway township is located in the junction area and it needs to provide health care services for the locals.
Arriving in Magway in April 2021, according to the report of the Ministry of Health, he immediately discussed with Japanese authorities to receive the remaining hospital equipment to be installed at the new hospital. And now, the country has received the equipment.
These materials should be used in treatment sectors effectively and it should make efforts to upgrade the remaining hospitals. The Ministry of Health should arrange to construct further hospitals for cancer and install a solar system to be used as an emergency light during a power outage. Moreover, the ministry should conduct systematic hospital construction operations.
