State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing receives HE Mr Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China yesterday in Nay Pyi Taw.

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by HE Mr Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China at the Credentials Hall of the Office of the State Administration Council Chairman in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
Also present at the meeting were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, Union Minister at the Ministry 2 of the State Administration Council Chairman Office U Ko Ko Hlaing, Deputy Minister for Information Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun and officials. The Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China was accompanied by Ambassador-designate of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar HE Ms Ma Jia, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Sun Weidong, Special Envoy for the Asian Affairs Mr Deng Xijun and delegation members.
At the meeting, the Senior General extended greetings, saying that China and Myanmar are good neighbours and old and good friends. For years, both countries have built a society together to share the same future in accord with the five-point principles of peaceful co-existence. The present meeting will help promote friendly relations and further cooperation between the two countries.
In his discussion, the member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China said that Myanmar is a good neighbour and an old and good friend of China. China firmly supports the independence and sovereignty of Myanmar. China supports the endeavours of the State Administration Council in implementing the five-point roadmap for ensuring peace and stability of the State and development and making preparations to hold a free and fair multiparty democratic general election. China emphasizes cooperation with Myanmar in its efforts to forge peace and stability measures. China opposes attacks of EAOs on towns and villages in Shan State (North).
Afterwards, they cordially exchanged views on measures of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, cooperation in the defence sector, internal peace measures of Myanmar and forging peace and stability in the border region, further cooperation in eradication of online gambling and scams, other monetary scams, and illicit measures, and preparations to hold a free and fair multiparty democratic general election.
After the meeting, the Senior General and the Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China exchanged gifts. — MNA/TTA
