SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing watches final match and awarding in SAC Chairman’s Trophy Inter-Ministry Men’s Football Tournament to mark Diamond Jubilee Independence Day

As a gesture of hailing the Diamond Jubilee Independence Day, the final match of the State Administration Council Chairman’s Trophy Inter-Ministry U-25 Men’s Football Tournament took place in conjunction with the awarding ceremony at Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon, and SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented prizes to relevant winners and teams.
In the final match, the Ministry of Planning and Finance team played against the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs. Both teams could put pressure on each other. In the 15th minute, the Ministry of Planning and Finance started leading the match with an opening goal. But, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs got an equalizer by scoring a goal in the 19th minute. So, the match ended in a 1-1 draw in the first half. Both teams conducted counterattacks on each other but the Ministry of Planning and Finance scored three more goals into the net of the opponent in the second half. So, the Ministry of Planning and Finance could lift the trophy with a 4-1 win over the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs at the final whistle.
SAC members U Moung Har, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Daw Aye Nu Sein, U Khin Maung Swe and Mahn Nyein Maung presented honorary medals and cash awards to the best players in the respective places.
SAC member Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun presented individual medals, trophies and cash awards to players of fourth-prize winning Ministry of Border Affairs, SAC member Admiral Tin Aung San, to third-prize winning Ministry of Home Affairs and SAC member General Mya Tun Oo, to second-prize winning Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo gave individual medals to champion Ministry of Planning and Finance.
The Senior General presented cash awards and a championship trophy to the Ministry of Planning and Finance and cordially greeted the players.
With the aim of increasing the standard of Myanmar’s football sports and turning out talented footballers, the State Administration Council Chairman’s Trophy Inter-Ministry U-25 Men’s Football Tournament, organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, marking the Diamond Jubilee Independence Day, started on 16 December. In the final match held yesterday, the Ministry of Planning and Finance which won over the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs secured the championship trophy. — MNA/TTA
