SAC holds 2021 Waso robes offering ceremony

The State Administration Council of the Union of the Republic of Myanmar held its 2021 Waso robes offering ceremony yesterday morning in Nay Pyi Taw under the COVID-19 guidelines set by the Ministry of Health and Sports.
A total of 18 monks led by Ovada Cariya of Uppatasanti Pagoda Presiding Sayadaw of Pauk Myaing Monastery in Lewe Township of Nay Pyi Taw Abhidhaja Maha Rahta Guru Bhaddanta Zanida attended the donation ceremony.
Chairman of the Council Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing also joined the ceremony together with SAC Vice-Chairman Vice-Senior General Soe Win, other council members, union ministers and officials.
The SAC Chairman first paid homage to the Buddha image in Sasana Beikman Taw Gyi and offered Emerald Bowl containing Soon (day-meals), flowers, water and light to the Buddha image. Then, the Senior General and party took five precepts from Pauk Myaing Sayadaw.
The Senior General, Vice-Senior General and other SAC members also donated Waso robes, offertories, day-meals and desserts to Pauk Myaing Sayadaw and members of Sangha. The congregation shared the merits gained and concluded the ceremony. – MNA
