SAC information team holds 16th press conference

The sixteenth press conference of the SAC Information Team is in progress in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

The Ministry of Information held the 16th press conference of the State Administration Council’s Information Team yesterday afternoon in Nay Pyi Taw.
At the press conference, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, the SAC Information Team Leader, explained the situation of the announcement for various armed groups, including the so-called PDF group, who want to enter the legal framework, peace issues, the re-calling of absent basic education staff, the acts of terrorism perpetrated by the so-called PDF terrorists. Member of the Union Election Commission U Khin Maung Oo also clarified matters related to the commission.
Those present at the press conference included members of the SAC Information Team, representatives from various ministries, officials from the Tatmadaw True News Information Team, invited persons, local media, reporters from daily newspapers, local television stations, and foreign media based in the country.
First, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun presented the desire of the government to unite all ethnic peoples in the role of national development, activities for various armed groups to enter the legal framework under the rule of law due to the petitions by some parents and citizens to the government, the return of PDF members to the rule of law in various regions and states, and the similar events happened when the Tatmadaw took over the responsibility of the state to restore law and order in 1988.
He also explained the commitment and efforts of the State Administration Council to promote the peace process, direct discussions with the Tatmadaw Peace Negotiation Committee and EAOs, strengthening peace with ethnic armed organizations that have signed the NCA, and steps being undertaken to reduce the number of clashes between ethnic armed organizations that have not yet signed the NCA and to reach bilateral agreements, the proposal of the SAC Chairman Prime Minister for the peace talks and discussions with each ethnic armed organization, plans for further talks and for the benefit of the country and the ethnic armed organizations that have not yet reached the peace talks to achieve peace, and additional invitations from previous invitations to hold peace talks for the benefit of the region.
He also clarified that the notice has been sent to education personnel, who have been involved in the CDM movement, to resume their teaching duties, and explained that terrorists targeted teachers and violence against teachers and education staff and the destruction of school buildings were committed.
Then, U Khin Maung Oo, a member of the Union Election Commission, explained with PowerPoint presentation the process being carried out by the Union Election Commission, including the completion of the field census and the inspection of political parties, to complete the voter list.
At the press conference, information on various so-called armed groups, including PDFs, who are entering the legal fold, peace issues, recalling of basic education staff who are absent from duties, and documentary photos of the UEC were displayed.
