SAC Member attends religious ceremony in Hopong

SAC Member Khun San Lwin attended a religious ceremony in Hopong, offering alms to monks and nuns who passed the Thamanegyaw examination. The event, held at Naungtaung Parahita TatU monastery in Hopong township, Shan State (South), included dignitaries such as Shan State Minister of Economic Affairs U Khun Thein Maung and Pa-O Self-Administered Zone Chairman U Khun Ye Htwe.
The ceremony began with lunch offerings to Sayadaws and monks, followed by a graduation ceremony where SAC Member Khun San Lwin observed the five precepts. The Pa-O Visakha Dhammacakka Society recited a poem in honour of the title-winning monks and nuns. Religious titles were then offered to the recipients, and SAC Member Khun San Lwin addressed religious matters. The ceremony concluded with symbolic water pouring to share the meritorious deeds.
The Narga Pura Sasana Lankara Thamanegyaw examination in Hopong saw 127 participants at primary level, with 538, 135, and 95 passing at the first, second, and third levels respectively. A total of 95 candidates were awarded the Narga Pura Sasana Lankara titles after successful completion. — MNA/ZN
