The SAC members and party also watched the renovation of the cave of the pagoda, preparations to renovate the terrace and Aung Sakyar Muni Ordination Hall.
Afterwards, the SAC members and party inspected the Sittway Port, the Kaladan River Multimodal Transit Transport Project, and officials from the Myanma Port Authority explained information about the project including the construction status of the port infrastructures and the development of a highway from Paletwa to the Myanmar-India border.
They also viewed dredging of silt near the jetty of Sittway Port and docking of vessels there.
The Kaladan Multimodal Transit Transport Project will increase trade opportunities between Myanmar and India, with the emergence of international ports which will access to other countries as well. Improved transport in Rakhine State and Chin State will greatly contribute to the development of the region and locals will also benefit from access to cruise-based tourism opportunities.—MNA
