Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin, Commander of the Eastern Command Maj-Gen Ni Lin Aung, and officials, met with the families of officers and soldiers from the Loikaw and Pekhon stations yesterday.
At first, the Vice-Senior General said in his address that it was one year since the Tatmadaw held office under the Constitution (2008) and difficulties and crises were successfully overcome with dutiful staff. He said the State Administration Council will proceed as per the provisions of the State of Emergency. According to Section 417 of the 2008 Constitution, an election must be held after the set timeline, and preparations are underway to hold a free and fair multiparty democracy general election, he added.
However, the peace process is being prioritized as the country needs to be stable and free of violence, he continued.

He added that terrorist organizations such as NUG, CRPH and PDF, and some media outlets that do not want peace and stability are spreading false information on social media and that the government is broadcasting true news via state-owned media in a timely manner.
As Section 337 of the Constitution states that as the Tatmadaw is the main armed forces for national defence, it is necessary for officers and soldiers, who are working with high confidence to defend the country, to fulfil the goals and responsibilities given to them in the spirit of not lowering the flag, he said. The Vice-Senior General also said strong unity must be built within the army, and to live and move with military caution and make all efforts to fulfil the regional security responsibilities.
Afterwards, the Vice-Senior General provided food for the Tatmadaw families and cordially met with them. In addition, the Vice-Senior General and party went to Loikaw Tatmadaw Hospital and met Tatmadaw family members and local people receiving medical treatment at the hospital, and presented them with gifts.
