Second COVID vaccination of prisoners begins at Insein prison

The inmates of Insein Prison in Yangon Region got their second COVID jabs yesterday, according to the prison officials.
“The prisoners of Insein Prison are vaccinated against COVID-19 as the second injection today. This is the first day of the second COVID vaccination. It will take about three days as there were 7,200 inmates who received the first jab. We will vaccinate all the inmates,” said the prison official.
The prison officials conducted the vaccination programme for 2,417 inmates in accordance with the COVID-19 health rules. Those who received the second jab completed their first one on 28 July. There were 7,190 prisoners for the first injection.
Yangon Region Director U Myo Oo of Prison Department and other officials, including the Insein prison in-charge inspected the vaccination processes. The medics and nurses of the prison hospital will continue to vaccinate the inmates in the coming days. — Myint Mo/GNLM
