Second day of 12th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime, related meetings continue

The 12th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime and its Related Meetings (12th AMMTC) continued for the second day on Thursday in Nay Pyi Taw. The 9th AMMTC+3 involving dialogues partners China, Japan and South Korea, the 6th AMMTC+ China and the 4th AMMTC+ Japan were also held at Myanmar International Convention Centre II (MICC-II) in Nay Pyi Taw.
The 9th AMMTC+3 was held at 8.30 am and was attended by Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe chaired the meeting and ministers and ministerial level delegates from 10 ASEAN countries and dialogues partners China, Japan and South Korea, the Secretary-General of ASEAN and officials, senior officials and representatives from respective countries. Simultaneously, Vice Minister of the Department of Home Affairs of the Philippines Mr. Bernardo C. Florece, Jr. co-chaired the 6th AMMTC+ China and Deputy Minister of Public Security of Viet Nam Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong also co-chaired the 4th AMMTC+Japan.
During the 12th AMMTC and its related meetings, officials confirmed four approvals and made two decisions concerning with programme works and implementation program for prevention and suppression of terrorism, trafficking and other crimes. Officials confirmed three approvals and made
one decision in the 9th AMMTC+3.
Following the meeting, a press release on the meetings was issued and the ceremony was attended by Union Minister Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe, Deputy Minister Maj-Gen Aung Thu and officials, Secretary-General of ASEAN Dato Lim Jock Hoi and executive director.
