Security forces seizing weapons, equipment used in terrorist attacks

Security forces confiscated weapons and equipment used in terrorist attacks in Bago Region, Sagaing Region, Taninthayi Region, Mon State, Magway Region, Yangon Region and Kayah State on 12 May.

Three men were arrested with homemade guns, gas gun and related equipment used in terrorist attacks in Bago, Taninthayi and Sagaing regions.
Naing Han Thar, 56, fugitive of the Mawlamyine District court and Nay Lin Oo, 17, were arrested with a vehicle, one 9 mm American-made pistol, one magazine and 29 bullets and one grenade in Werat village in Ye Township, Mon State.
Three men riding a motorbike were stopped and searched by the security forces while patrolling the wards in Myaing Township, Magway Region and one handmade gun and related equipment were confiscated from them.

Similarly, a homemade gun made by PVC plastic pipe and related materials were found and confiscated in the drain near the Toe river bank in Kawhmu township, Yangon Region. Two men were arrested with 15 detonators and related items in their backpack in Pruhso Town in Kayah State.
It is reported that investigations are conducted to take action against the owners of the weapons and related equipment and those who hide them according to the law. — MNA
