Seed Fair Week 2022 Workshop held in Pyinmana township

The Seed Fair Week 2022 Workshop was conducted at the Institute of Agriculture in Pyinmana Township yesterday.
At the workshop, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo said the Seed Fair 2022 and the workshop were organized to support all participants such as seed producers and sellers. The production of quality seeds can improve the socio-economic status of the country. Moreover, the government, private sectors and farmers should work hard in unison to develop the seed production sector.
The retired permanent secretary Dr Tin Htut serves as the presenter at the Seed Fair 2022 Workshop and officials from the Agriculture and Research Departments and the Myanmar Seed Association joined the discussion. They shared their experiences and discussed the Seed Law, seed quality, crops quality and the interests of farmers. About 1,000 farmers, private business persons, seed associations, young entrepreneurs and state/region representatives participated in the workshop online.
The Seed Fair 2022 will be held from 18 to 22 February in line with COVID-19 health rules. The farmers seminar on cotton development will be held on 20 February. — MNA
