Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation from United Wa State Army (UWSA) at Aung Pyi Hein Avenue in Tachilek Station of Triangle Region Command on 5 September.
During the meeting, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered a speech.
U Nyi Kat and members from UWSA expressed thanks for having provided medical supplies for COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment two times. They also said that the region was speeding up preventive measures and monitoring and restricting movement, and they were working for the success of the peace process.
The Senior General donated 20,000 surgical masks, 300 suits of personal protective equipment (PPE), 1,000 N95 masks, 250 face shields, six containers of sodium hypochloride (15L), 1,000 sets of examination gloves, 150 bottles of hand gel, 150 bottles of hand sanitizer and foods and consumer goods produced by the Tatmadaw-run factories through U Nyi Kat and members who presented back him local gifts. Afterwards, the Senior General attended the ceremony to present honorary cash awards to security forces for their effective anti-drug drive in Tachilek and health aids for COVID-19 at the Station Hall in Tachilek.
From 1 January to 31 August 2020, Tatmadaw and Myanmar Police Force confiscated 27.63 kilogrammes of heroin, 1.5 kilogrammes of raw opium, 35,694,196 stimulant tablets, 1,064.7 kilogrammes of ICE, 12.35 kilogrammes of Ketamine and 6,588.6 kilogrammes of other accessories related to narcotic drugs at a cost of more than K192.6 billion in Tachilek Township.
At the ceremony, the Senior General donated 20,000 surgical masks, 300 sets of personal protective equipment (PPE), 1,000 N-95 masks, 250 face shields, six containers of sodium hypochloride with each container containing 15 litres, 1,000 examination gloves, 150 bottles of hand gel, 150 bottles of hand sanitizer, food, and consumer goods produced by Tatmadaw-run factories through Tachilek community elders U Tin Hlaing, U Kyi Myint and U Tun Nay Oo.
Afterwards, he presented cash awards for Myanmar Police Force for accomplishments in confiscating drugs in Tachilek Township through Commander of Tachilek District Police Force Police Lieutenant Colonel Ye Naing Aung, according to the news released by the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.—MNA
