Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Vice Minister Mr Chen Fengxiang of the International Department of the Central Committee of China’s Communist Party discussed border issues and promotion of ties between the two countries, as well as the role of Defence Services in the upcoming election.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said Tatmadaw will always focus on the stability and development of the State in line with ‘Our Three Main National Causes, while it is taking over responsibilities of national politics.
He noted that political instability could hinder development of the country, calling for ethnic armed groups to abandon arm attacks and make peace with the government.
Mr Chen Fengxiang called for the contribution of Tatmadaw in promotion of bilateral ties between the two countries, saying that his visit is aimed to get knowledge about the existing situations of Tatmadaw, the government and other organization during the pre-election period of Myanmar.
The commander-in-chief also received Malaysian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Mohd Haniff Abd Rahman in the morning to discuss promotion of military ties and trades between the two countries, exchange of visits and cooperation in trade between two armed forces.
