Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, received Mr. Sun Guoxiang, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), at the Bayintnaung guest house in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
During the meeting, observations made by PRC Ministry of Foreign Affairs Special Envoy during his visit to northern Rakhine State Buthidaung and Maungtaw regions, arrangements made by the Myanmar side on receiving returnees, China’s continued support for the Myanmar government and the Tatmadaw at the United Nations as well as in the international arena, status of ARSA terrorist insurgents and AA insurgents working together to destabilize regional stability in Rakhine State along the Myanmar-Bangladesh border, status of Tatmadaw’s efforts toward achieving permanent peace throughout the entire country by 2020, support provided by China in this effort and status of cooperation towards achieving stability and peace in northern Myanmar region and along the border of the two countries were discussed according to news released by the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
