The Sitagu Eye Hospital in Yangon has conducted its seventh round of eye treatments. Beginning 23 August, specialists at the hospital, located near the Bailey Bridge in Dagon Myothit (North) Township, Yangon, will perform surgeries for 300 patients with eye conditions. These patients were examined and scheduled for surgery in June, and the hospital has been contacting them by phone to inform them of their appointments.
On 24 and 25 August, a total of 165 patients underwent surgery. New patients will receive treatment during the hospital’s upcoming eighth round of eye surgeries, according to Sitagu Eye Hospital (Yangon).
Since the programme began in January 1993, Sitagu Sayadaw has established around 50 eye hospitals across the country, restoring the eyesight of over 200,000 patients. — TWA/MKKS
