“Sales of soybeans are brisk this rainy season. The raw material is not very convenient, as it needs to dry in the sun. The raw material cannot keep up with the demand. The demand is good. In terms of prices, it does not increase much. In terms of orders, we get more orders from Yangon. There are also many orders from abroad. There are orders from Mae Sot and Bangkok.” Ma Phway Phway, an official at The Hometown local produce trading in Nyaungshwe township, said.
Soybeans are primarily produced in Nyaungshwe, Laikha, and Panglong in southern Shan State, and they are the most consumed soybean varieties.
“Among soybeans, the consumption of Shan soybeans is very high, and it has a less salty taste. The soybeans are ordinary Shan soybeans that have no taste, sticky-rice soybeans, herbal soybeans, and Pa’O soybeans. Most people eat Shan beans that have no other ingredients.
