Shopkeepers encouraged to sell iodized salt

DSC03134Officials and health professionals from the Public Health Department checked the quality and stocks of iodised salt at 36 wholesale and retail stores in Tatkon Township in Nay Pyi Taw on 25 August. Tests were carried out to determine whether the available brands of salt contained adequate levels of iodine. Departmental representative Daw Thin Thin Hlaing explained the public health benefits of iodised salt and urged shopkeepers not to stock brands without iodine.
