Short circuit causes fire at oil installation

A fire broke out at the main oil installation of Myanma Petroleum Products Enterprise under the Ministry of Energy in West Thanlyetmaw Ward in Mahaaungmye Township in Mandalay on 10 November afternoon.
The fire started from a short circuit while an oil tanker truck was being filled at the station.
Director U Kyi Win of the Fire Services Department, Deputy Director Head of Mandalay Region FSD U Than Zaw Oo and over 380 firefighters put out the fire with the use of 55 fire trucks and two management vehicles.
Oil truck driver Ko Min and worker Yan Naing Soe suffered injuries and are in critical condition together with other injured workers Zaw Tun Naing, Kyaw Win Maw, Lwam Moe Tun and Thet Ko Oo. They were sent to Mandalay General Hospital. The fire destroyed property of the station worth K3 million.
