Shwedagon Pagoda to get gold robe in September

According to the Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustees, a gold robe will be offered to the entire pagoda in September.
Those wishing to participate in the donation can do so by offering K2.5 million for a pure gold plate of 100 square inches (weighing one tical) and K15 million for a pure gold plate of one square foot (weighing six ticals).
The gold robe offering at the Shwedagon Pagoda is held every five years, with the most recent event in the 2018-2019 financial year. — TWA/TKO
