Thura U Shwe Mann, Speaker of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw and Pyithu Hluttaw, called on United Nations Secretary General Mr Ban Ki-moon at the latter’s office in New York, the United States, on 5 May.
They exchanged views on human rights, democracy and peace processes in Myanmar. Mr Vijay Nambiar, the UN Secretary General’s Special Advisor on Myanmar, was present at the meeting too.
Thura U Shwe Mann also met Vijay Nambiar at the latter’s office in New York in the morning the same day.
The speaker and his entourage visited Asia Society, where they viewed round the Buddhist Art of Myanmar booth.
