Speaker U Win Myint inaugurates Civil Services Academy

Civil Services Academy and a post-graduate diploma course No 1 on civil service management were opened at the Central Institute of Civil Service (Lower Myanmar) in Phaunggyi in Hlegu Township yesterday, with the presence of Speaker of Pyithu Hluttaw U Win Myint.
At the ceremony, Speaker U Win Myint unveiled the commemorative inscription stone signboard of the academy.
The Civil Service Academy (Lower Myanmar) was formally opened by Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe, Union Attorney-General U Tun Tun Oo, Speaker of Yangon Region Hluttaw U Tin Maung Tun, member of the Union Civil Service Board Dr U Pwa and Rector of the CICS (Lower Myanmar) U Nyi Nyi San.
Following the opening ceremony, Speaker U Win Myint and party visited the lecture rooms, hostels and mess halls for the trainees.
A total of 61 trainees are attending the post graduate course which will last till 4th May.
CSA (Upper Myanmar) was also opened at the CICS in PyinOoLwin, with an opening address by Vice President U Myint Swe.
The two academies become the most important milestone in 50 years since 1965 when the Central Institute of the Civil Service was first established.—Myanmar News Agency
