Special Rapporteur meets union ministers, Hluttaw committees

Ms. Yanghee Lee, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar, met with union ministers and members of Hluttaw committees separately in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
She discussed the peace process and humanitarian aid to Rakhine State with Union Minister for the State Counsellor’s Office U Kyaw Tint Swe and national reconciliation and development of states with Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Naing Thet Lwin.
She also discussed human rights, women and children’s rights with the Amyotha Hluttaw Bill Committee, the Amyotha Hluttaw Citizens’ Fundamental Rights, the Democracy and Human Rights Committee,  the Amyotha Hluttaw Women and Children’s Rights Committee and the Pyithu Hluttaw Bill Committee.
She also discussed implementation of ETTI, land rights and environmental conservation with the Permanent Secretaries of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation.—Myanmar News Agency.
