Sports DM encourages athletes who will compete in 11th ASEAN Para Games

Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Myo Hlaing, along with officials, met athletes at the Myanmar Rowing Federation in Inya Lake, Yangon at 7 am yesterday.
The deputy minister gave speeches and inspected the land where the six four-storey dormitories were to be built soon.
Next, he met athletes who will compete in the 11th ASEAN Para Games at the dining room of the Myanmar Paralympic Sports Federation in Dagon Myothit (North) and the needs of blind goalie athletes were fulfilled.
After that, the deputy minister watched and encouraged the weightlifters and volleyball players at the Gym.
He stressed that athletes should try their best to make the country proud in the competition and that if they win medals, the State will reward them. He urged them to live up to good health and fitness.
He then inspected the land to build a 120 feet x 40 feet double-decker amphitheatre with a roof, in front of the North Dagon Pool.
Furthermore, the deputy minister inspected the completion of the athletics synthetic track at the Pedetha Stadium in South Okkalapa and the land where the football stadium grand amphitheatre is to be built.
The Yangon Region government donated K5.4 million for nine months for the Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Yangon) was presented by the Yangon Region Sports and Physical Education Committee Chairman U Htay Aung.
The deputy minister received the cash and returned the certificate of honour. The deputy minister and the party had lunch with the students. — MNA
