State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Maha Thray Sithu Min Aung Hlaing addresses ceremony in honour of Diamond Jubilee Union Day, takes salutes of honorary columns

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Maha Thray Sithu Min Aung Hlaing delivered an address at the ceremony to honour Diamond Jubilee Union Day 2022 and took the salute of columns of honour at the Grand Military Parade Ground in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The military columns which would march past the Senior General took the position in the parade ground where the Diamond Jubilee Union Day ceremony would be held.
At 7:30 am, the Senior General arrived at the dais of the ground. The artillery corps saluted the Senior General with a 21-gun fire together with the military columns and those present.
The Union Flag was conveyed from the city hall of Nay Pyi Taw to the parade ground by the decorated float. Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council Dr Maung Maung Naing handed over the flag to the Chairman of the organizing committee Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn who planted the flag in the silver bowl on the stage.
The military columns and those present saluted the State Flag and took the oaths.
The Senior General delivered an address in honour of Diamond Jubilee Union Day. (The address is separately reported on page-2.)
Union Information Minister U Maung Maung Ohn handed over the flag to Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council Dr Maung Maung Naing who led the conveyance of the Union Flag to Nay Pyi Taw city hall where the flag will spend one year.
The Senior General took the salute of the flag bearer representing the Tatmadaw (Army), the companies representing respective ministries and organizations as well as bands and the State Military Band.
Meanwhile, military aircraft from Gyogyar, Arkar, Yanaung, Yeman, Yekkha, Thurein and Yazar squadrons in various forms flew over the parade ground to salute the Senior General, hanging the Union Flag, region and state flags, releasing the colourful smoke trails.
Then, decorated floats representing Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, Kachin, Kayah, Kayin and Chin states, Sagaing, Taninthayi, Bago, Magway and Mandalay regions, Mon, Rakhine and Shan states, Yangon and Ayeyawady regions displaying emblems of the ethnics, lifestyle, traditions and customs as well as products presented song and dance performances. Yazar squadron led by Lt-Col Kyaw Aung flew over the decorated floats in fan break form with shooting flares.
A total of 1,100 students from basic education schools in Zabuthiri and Pyinmana townships of Nay Pyi Taw Council portrayed the names of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, regions and states.
After the ceremony, the Senior General waved at those present and left the parade ground.
The Senior General and wife cordially waved at decorated floats and dance troupes from regions and states. — MNA
