State Administration Council holds Kathina robe offering ceremony

The State Administration Council held the Kathina robe offering ceremony yesterday morning at Sasana Maha Beikmandaw in Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw. Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla attended the ceremony and presented Kathina robes and offertories.
Present were 18 members of the Sangha led by Ovadacariya Sayadaw of Uppatasanti Pagoda Board of Trustees Presiding Nayaka of Paukmyaing Monastery in Lewe Township of Nay Pyi Taw Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Jininda.
Also present were Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, members of the State Administration Council and their wives, and officials.
The Senior General and wife and the congregation observed the display of Kathina robes, offertories and Padethabins (tree-shaped stands where various kinds of offerings are hung) which were to be donated to the Aungsitha Buddhist Learning Centre. The Senior General offered oil lights, water and fruits and meals in the emerald alms-bowl to the Buddha Image in the hall.
The Senior General and wife offered Kathina robes, offertories and alms to the Paukmyaing Sayadaw and Presiding Sayadaw of Aungsitha Buddhist Learning Centre Bhaddanta Vicakkhana.
The Vice-Senior General and wife offered Kathina robes and alms to Presiding Sayadaw of Maha Thihanada Monastery Bhaddanta Acinna. The members, the secretary and the joint-secretary of the State Administration Council and the Chief Justice of the Union then donated Kathina robes and alms to members of the Sangha respectively.
The Paukmyaing Sayadaw delivered a sermon and the congregation shared the merits gained. At the Kathina robe offering ceremony 2021 of the State Administration Council yesterday, the donations including 42 Padethabins was valued at K 97.64375 million.— MNA
