The Waso robe offering ceremony 2022 of the State Administration Council of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar took place at Sasana Maha Beikman building in the precinct of Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area yesterday morning and it was attended by State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla.
First, the Senior General offered meals in the emerald alms-bowl, fruits, flowers, water and oil lights to the Buddha image in the building.
Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Presiding Nayaka of Bhamo Monastery in Mandalay Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Dr Bhaddanta Kumara Bhivamsa administered the Five Precepts. The Senior General and wife offered Waso robes and alms to Bhamo Sayadaw.
Vice-Chairman of SAC Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe donated Waso robes and alms to Vice-Chairman of SSMNC Presiding Nayaka of Meiktila Sasana Wepulla Pali Tekkatho Monastery Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Kovida. Council members and wives, the secretary, the joint secretary and Union level persons offered Waso robes and alms to members of the Sangha.
The Vice-Chairman of SSMNC Meiktila Sayadaw delivered a sermon, followed by sharing of merits gained. After the ceremony, the Senior General and wife together with the congregation offered day meals to members of the Sangha. — MNA
