State Counsellor visits Angkor Wat, Bayon temple; arrives back in Nay Pyi Taw

State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and her entourage who are on an official visit to Cambodia, arrived in Siem Reap from Phnom Penh at 9:30 am yesterday. They were welcomed there by the Siem Reap Province Governor Mr. Tea Seiha, and wife and the officials at the Siem Reap International Airport.
They proceeded to the Angkor Wat temple along with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Prak Sokhonn and offered flower, water and candles to Buddha images.
Afterwards, the State Counsellor and her entourage paid a visit to the Bayon temple.

Following the visits to the temples, the State Counsellor and party attended the luncheon hosted by the governor and wife at the Sokha Resort Hotel.
After the visit, the State Counsellor and party left for Nay Pyi Taw and they were seen off by Cambodian Minister of Women’s Affairs Dr. Kantha Phavi, Myanmar Ambassador to Cambodia U Myint Soe, Cambodian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Sok Chea, the governor of Siem Reap, wife and officials.
The State Counsellor and party arrived back in Nay Pyi Taw in the evening, and were welcomed by Union Minister for the Office of the State Counsellor, U Kyaw Tint Swe, Union Minister for the Office of the Union Government U Min Thu, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman Dr. Myo Aung and wife, Chief of Myanmar Police Force Police Lt-Gen Aung Win Oo, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Hong Liang and wife, Chargé d’affaires, a.i., of the Cambodian Embassy in Myanmar Ms. Dy Yoeun and officials at the Nay Pyi Taw International Airport.— MNA
