Successful eggplant cultivation brings happiness to farmers through daily income

The eggplant price is ranging between K800 and K1,000 per viss in the retail market. Now, the eggplant growers are happy, making a good profit, said U Sai Hla Win, an eggplant grower from Naungkat village.

Local farmers from Hsipaw Township, Kyaukme District, Shan State (North) are growing varieties of crops in the winter. But tomato growers have succeeded its plantation in Naungkat village and they are earning daily income by selling them.
The eggplants are cultivated five feet apart from each other and the soil land is made to facilitate irrigation. The pesticides should be sprayed when there are insects. The fertilizer is also used only when it is necessary. The plant could be yielded every day or occasionally.
