SWRR Ministry discusses COVID-19 preparations in IDP camps

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye held a video conference yesterday to coordinate the protection, containment and response to COVID-19 concerning IDP camps across the nation.
The Union Minister said they have prepared COVID-19 response plans for IDP camps in Kachin State, Shan State, Rakhine State and Kayin State and they have approval from the National Central Committee on Protection, Containment and Treatment of COVID-19.
He said they have coordinated with UN humanitarian agencies and they have reviewed expenditures concerning implementation of action plans. He said although there are many tasks at hand for staff in the field right now, the situation is important to require them to try hard. He urged them to give daily reports on COVID-19 measures in the IDP camps. Next, Deputy Minister U Soe Aung discussed preparations for COVID-19 in the IDP camps and the directors-general explained preparations for the states and regions as well.—MNA (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
