Tatmadaw donates 2,789.25-carat ruby to the State

A ceremony to donate a large piece of ruby weighing 2,789.25 carats by the Tatmadaw to the State took place at the hall of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services yesterday afternoon.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister said that a youth who loves the State and the Tatmadaw offered the Tatmadaw to donate a large piece of ruby inherited by his parents and forefathers to the Tatmadaw. When officials checked the piece of ruby, it is a precious one. So, the Tatmadaw donated it to the State. Likewise, in the time of the State Law and Restoration Council in 1990, the State accepted the donation of a piece of 496-carat ruby and one more piece of 1,907-carat ruby in 2013. Today’s donated piece of ruby is a large size weighing 2,789.25 carats. The already-donated piece of ruby will be identified as the State ruby (NaSaKa Ruby).

The piece of ruby does not have any flaw, and it is a rare one extracted from Mogok gems land of Myanmar. A plan is underway to give a deserved honour to the donor.
The Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and the deputy minister reported on facts about the ruby. The Senior General and those present viewed the piece of ruby.
The 2,789.25-carat ruby donated by the Tatmadaw to the State has 9 in hardness and 3.99 in density. Its colour is red with a purplish tint. It is a significantly large piece of ruby produced from Mogok gems land. — MNA
