Tatmadaw members need to practise taking severe action against enemies while contributing to the people: Senior General

If everybody strives for boosting the State economy with momentum, Myanmar will reach the middle class of the economy among ASEAN countries in a short time, said Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in a meeting with officers, other ranks and families of Thandwe station in Rakhine State yesterday morning.

Political progress
In meeting with Tatmadaw members and families of Thandwe station, the Senior General said that Tatmadaw is serving the duties of State security and defence, and rule of law while cementing the multiparty democratic system and taking care of not occurring violent acts. The Senior General explained discharging of State responsibilities by Tatmadaw after declaring the state of emergency under the political trend, and implementation of political, economic and social objectives and policies and objectives for all round development and peace and stability of the nation.
The Senior General continued to say that the State economy declined with trade deficiency in the term of the previous government due to a lack of encouraging the domestic economy. So, local people went abroad for working.

Efforts for enhancement of State economy
The government encourages domestic manufacturing measures as well as MSME businesses in order to surge the economy.
If everybody strives for boosting the State economy with momentum, Myanmar will reach the middle class of the economy among ASEAN countries in a short time. Encouragement must be given to agriculture and livestock farms so as to contribute to manufacturing measures.

Fulfilling needs of Tatmadaw members in welfare, education promotion
The Senior General stressed the need to successfully undertake military own and manageable-scale agriculture and livestock farms to support the welfare of Tatmadaw members. Tatmadaw has fulfilled the needs of food, clothing and shelter of Tatmadaw members and families.
Tatmadaw helps Tatmadaw members enhance the education qualification of their families. Libraries at regiments and units have been provided books and publications for their reading. As Tatmadaw has provided assistance for Tatmadaw members to have knowledge and techniques, they have to read books and serve their duties loyal to the State and Tatmadaw. Tatmadaw members need to exercise practices of taking severe action against enemies while contributing to the people.

Giving foodstuffs and cash awards
The Senior General presented foodstuffs for Tatmadaw members and families through the commander and wife of the Senior General cash for the station maternal and child welfare association through the wife of the commander.
The Senior General presented an oil colour painting portraying the violent attacks of Myanmar’s royal troops led by Maha Thiha Thura (Myawady governor U Sa) under the command of General Maha Bandoola on British troops taking positions beside the lake near Panwa River in Rakhine battlefield during the First Anglo-Myanmar War on 17 May 1824 AD during to the commander of Western Command. — MNA
