Tatmadaw (Navy) transports foodstuffs, relief items to Rakhine State

Foodstuffs and relief items are seen being loaded onto the naval vessel to transport them for storm victims in Rakhine State.

The naval vessel 554 of Tatmadaw (Navy) on Monday left for Sittway Township from No 6 naval jetty of Kyaukpyu carrying 5,000 eggs, about 500 visses of chicken, 100 cartons of noodles and 600 packs of 1-litre water bottles as the township was demolished by a extremely severe cyclone Mocha. They distributed foodstuffs and drinking water to the storm victims and further assistance will be provided to the people in Rathedaung.
Similarly, the naval vessel Mottama also left for Sittway today from Bo Aung Kyaw Jetty carrying 6,000 packs of ration (about 60 tonnes) donated by the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army), 12,000 bags of rice donated by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, 1,000 tarpaulin rolls, about 105 tonnes of rice by the Office of State Administration Council, 35 tonnes of nails and 40,000 CI sheets by Myanma Economic Holdings Public Company Limited, one MPT mobile truck,17 tonnes of telecom towers and other devices of the Ministry of Transport and Communications and another vessel (Maha Bandoola) from No 4 naval jetty carrying 113 cartons of noodle, 8,800 sachets of electrolyte drinks, 5,000 eggs, drinking water and meat and fish, 100 visses of fish paste, 800 visses of dried fish by the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Navy), 10,000 eggs by Yangon Command and 500 bags of rice by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement.
Yangon Command Commander Maj-Gen Zaw Hein and officials inspected the loading processes of relief items and supplies yesterday.
Moreover, Tatmadaw (Navy) participated in the transport of relief items for the victims in storm-hit areas. — MNA/KTZH
