The Taungpaw Camp in Myebon Township, Rakhine State, was closed down and displaced people moved to new houses.
Some 50 houses have been completed, and it is the first step towards shutting down the Taungpaw Camp, according to local authorities.
More than 3,060 people from 642 families were sheltered at the camp.
Some families in Taungpaw Camp have moved to the new homes.
The Committee for Implementation of Recommendations on Rakhine State is giving priority to closing the camps for displaced persons in Rakhine State.
Dr. Aung Thu Rein, Director of the Committee for Implementation Recommendations on Rakhine State, visited the camp yesterday and assisted the people in shifting to their new dwellings. The remaining houses are under construction by the Ministry of Border Affairs.
