THE Mandalay Region Constructors Association will conduct a project to keep the Taungthaman Lake and its environs green and lush, according to local residents.
Located in Amarapura Township, Mandalay Region, the lake will be a major tourist attraction in the region after being landscaped, the association’s chairman U Than Win said, adding that the project will create new jobs for local people.
As world-famous U Pain Bridge spans across the lake, the beauty of the scenery will become a centre of attention, said U Khwe, a local resident of Htantaw village, expressing his belief that the project will bring socioeconomic development to the villages in the vicinity of the lake. —Min Htet Aung (Mandalay Subpublishing House)
