Tazaungdaing lighting and hot-air balloon festival held at Chaungtha beach

The lighting and hot-air balloon festivals of Tazaungdaing were peacefully held in the field near the pagoda at the beach in Chaungtha of Pathein District, Ayeyawady Region at 6:30 pm on 6 November.
First, the township administrator, departmental personnel, ward/village administrators, hotel zone families, beach vendors, fisheries associations, social organizations and residents worshipped by lighting colourful lanterns along the way from the entrance of the festival to the pagoda.
Afterwards, the hot-air balloon releasing festival was opened with the release of two large hot-air balloons by the departments concerned and 24 hot-air balloons by other associations.
The festival will be held for two consecutive days and it is known that residents and tourists are welcome to release their own hot-air balloons from the time of the festival until 8:00 pm every night.
The lighting and hot-air balloon festivals of Tazaungdaing were held for the first time this year at Chaungtha beach. The donation of Rakhine traditional food will be served on the second day of the festival in addition to oil lamp-offering and hot-air balloon-releasing activities. — Kyaw Kyaw (IPRD)/GNLM
