TBS Television making documentary of Bagan ancient cultural region

A film team from Japan’s TBS Television was making a documentary of Bagan ancient cultural region by filming scenes near Dhammayangyi Temple, Thatbyinnyu Temple, Tuyintaung pagoda, old temple ground and the old city wall yesterday.

Earlier in the morning the team filmed scenes near Tantkyi Taung Pagoda and along the Ayeyawady River while from 20 to 24 November the team film scenes in Shwezigon Pagoda, Ananda Temple, Laymyethna Temple, sun rise and sun set from Min Nan Thu mound, dams and irrigation water distribution in Kyaukse District.
Furthermore the team will film scenes at Lawkananda Pagoda, Tharabar Gate, Bu Pagoda, stages of making lacquerware works, junior monks from Shwegu Monastery going around for alms, interview maintenance and renovation works in the temples up to 28 November. The films will be shown in a weekly “The World Heritage” program that TBS Television was broadcasting. — Ni Ni Win (FDC)
