Telecoms sector extends CSR support for flood-hit communities

Due to severe flooding caused by heavy rainfall from Typhoon Yagi, mobile operators have stepped in to support flood-battered communities by offering free communication services as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
From 13 to 19 September, mobile operators provided seven days of free calls and SMS to help flood-stricken mobile phone users maintain accessible communication. Further extending their efforts, various telecommunication providers have announced additional support for flood-hit regions.
Myanma Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) is offering 700 minutes of free calls and 700 complimentary SMS messages for mobile-to-mobile communication from 20 to 26 September. Likewise, ATOM Myanmar Ltd will provide 300 minutes of free calls and 300 complimentary SMS messages from 20 to 22 September. Meanwhile, Ooredoo Myanmar has announced unlimited free calls and unlimited free SMS from 20 to 26 September.
