China-manufactured 10 electric vehicle chargers (60 kW) imported by Asia Pacific Automaker Corporation Co Ltd turned up at Myanmar Industrial Port.
Under the approval of the national-level committee leading the development of electric vehicles and related business, this shipment is the fourth batch. They were also claimed in line with the Customs procedures on the goods’ arrival date.
The importation of the EV charger is exempted from Customs tariffs to enhance the electric vehicle sector in the domestic auto market.
The charging stations have started to run at Thabyaygon market in Nay Pyi Taw on recent days. Moreover, the construction of the charging stations in five townships in Yangon city and on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway is underway. — TWA/EM
