Terrorists’ bomb attack targeting COVID-19 vaccination site occurs in southern Shan State

The government is accelerating the COVID-19 prevention and control activities and conducting COVID-19 vaccination programmes across the nation.
Terrorist groups like NUG, CRPH and their supporters intentionally disturb the COVID-19 vaccination.
On 3 August, a homemade remote mine planted by the extremists exploded at the city hall in Nyaung Gone (4) Ward of Pekhon township of southern Shan State where the vaccination was conducted.
Due to the bomb blast, Police Constable Tun Lin Zaw died on the spot and Police Constable Aung Lwin Phyo and Police Lance-Corporal Aung Myo were injured.
Then, Police Constable Aung Lwin Phyo died on the way to the hospital.
Moreover, Daw Mu Rein who received the vaccine and U Nanda Wai Yan, volunteers were also injured in the mine blast and were taken to the hospital.
The security forces investigate to arrest the suspects who disturb the vaccination programmes and the people are also urged to inform the officials if they find some movements of the terrorists. — MNA
