Thai authorities hand over 16 Myanmar citizens

Myanmar officials reaccepted 16 Myanmar citizens who have served jail terms in Thailand for various offences.
Handover of these persons and their medical checkups were supervised by Kayin State Hluttaw Representative U Thant Zin Aung, Police Lt-Col Thet Lin Oo, Myawady District Immigration Officer U Aung Khaing Swe and officials.
“Myanmar officials visited Thailand to inspect the citizenship of these 16 persons and their health conditions on 7 May,” said U Thant Zin Aung.
They are 14 persons from Kayin State and 2 from Bago Region.
“Among 396 returnees from Thailand from 1 to 13 May, this is the first group of former detainees in Thailand,” he added.—Htein Linn Aung (IPRD) (Translated by Aung Khin)
