Thailand International Cooperation Agency donates lab commodities, protective equipment for Myanmar’s COVID-19 response

The TICA (Thailand International Cooperation Agency) donated 2 RT-PCR, medical laboratory equipment, Negative Pressure Isolation Room (5) rooms and Positive Pressure Isolation Chamber—Swab Units (10) units to the National Health Laboratory of Myanmar yesterday.
Thai Ambassador Mrs Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, Permanent Secretary. Chana Sindhvananda and 1st Secretary Mr Wuthikiat Chaicharna of the Royal Thai Embassy of Myanmar attended the donation ceremony together with Professor Dr Htay Htay Tin, Rector of the University of Medical Technology and other Professors/Superintendent and director-generals of the relevant departments.
First, Professor Dr Daw Htay Htay Tin of NHL made an opening remark and the Thai Ambassador talked about the contribution of liquid oxygen, including the current donations of TICA, long-term and short-term medical training of Thailand and plans to provide Generators for 50 to 500 bedded hospitals along with Taninthayi Region and future cooperation works.
Then, the officials inspected the Negative Pressure Isolation Room (5) rooms and Positive Pressure Isolation Chamber – Swab Units (10) units which arrived in Yangon on 3 October and were kept at Central Medical Store Depot. After that, NHL presented the certificate of honour to the Thai Ambassador to Myanmar on behalf of the Ministry of Health. — MNA
