Thet Htar Thuzar’s int’l tourneys canceled due to COVID-19

International badminton tournaments in Poland and Portugal, in which Myanmar star Thet Htar Thuzar was to compete, have been canceled due to the worldwide spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus.
Commenting on the cancellation, Thet Htar Thuzar said on her social media page, “I had been in Portugal for special training and to participate in international tournaments. But the tournaments in Portugal and Poland have been canceled due to the Coronavirus and I am really feeling sad about that.”
Thet Htar Thuzar added, “Although I am feeling sad, I am overwhelmed and happy that I won the Best in Sports prize for 2019 in the Myanmar Pride Award.
For that award, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to each and every fan supporting me.
And I will do better in raising my country’s image throughout the world,” Thet Htar Thuzar said.
Thet Htar Thuzar is aiming to enter the 2020 Tokyo Olympics badminton competition following intensive training.—Lynn Thit (Tgi)
