Third Anniversary of China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation held

The third anniversary of the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (Myanmar) (CFPA-Myanmar) was held at the Diamond Jubilee Hall of Yangon University yesterday.
Deputy Director-General of the Higher Education Department Dr. Nay Win Oo delivered a speech at the ceremony. Counsellor of the Embassy of the People Republic of China in Myanmar Mr. Yang Shouzhang, and Deputy Secretary General of China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation Mr. Chen Hongtao also delivered speeches. Director for International Development Department of CFPA Mr. Wu Peng, reviewed and discussed the works of the CFPA Myanmar team.
Afterwards, scholarship recipient students entertained with music, and on behalf of them, a student gave word of thanks.
Next, Deputy Director-General Dr. Nay Win Oo, Deputy Secretary General of CFPA Mr. Chen Hongtao, Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy Mr. Yang Shouzhang and officials presented the scholarships to the student representatives of the University of East Yangon, University of West Yangon and Yangon University of Economics (Ywar Thar Gyi).
The China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation has been operating 10 projects in Myanmar for three years, and has granted scholarships worth Chinese Yuan ¥ 1.695 million to 1,300 university students.
