
The Third Myanmar-Australia Foreign Ministry Consultations was held on 7 May 2019 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw. The meeting was co-chaired by U Myint Thu, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, and Mr. Richard Maude, Deputy Secretary of Indo-Pacific Group, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia.
During the meeting, they discussed matters on the promotion of bilateral relations and cooperation, democratic reforms, economic development endeavours, situation in Rakhine State and peace process of Myanmar.
They also deliberated on further strategic cooperation in various sectors including agriculture and livestock breeding, education, health, tourism, human resources development, law enforcement,trade, investmentand development cooperation.
Permanent Secretary U Myint Thu hosted the working lunch to the Australian delegationat the Park Royal Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.—MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
