Three-hour power outage on 24, 31 May due to power plant upgrade works

Four power plants in Yangon Region will be upgraded and there will be a three-hour power outage on 24 and 31 May, according to the statement of the Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation.
The upgrade works on the Ahlon substation, Hlawga substation, Ywama substation, and Thakayta substation are being carried out, and the 230/66/11kV, Bank (6) 200 MVA, Transformer has been installed at the Thakayta substation.
The upgrade works will be conducted at Thakayta station from 9 am to 11 am and from 4 pm to 6 pm on 24 May and from 9 am to 11 am on 31 May.
The power cut will affect Thakayta, Dawbon, Dagon Myothit (Seikkan), Dagon Myothit (South), Dagon Myothit (North), Thingangyun, Yankin, Tamway, South Okkalapa, Mayangon and Hline townships. The power will be provided through power lines of substations to prevent power outages in critical areas, according to the statement. — TWA/GNLM
