Torrential rain hit Myaing and Pakokku townships, on Friday, flooding the Pakokku-Monywa Road in Myaing and destroyed a road, triggering traffic chaos yesterday.
Members of the local fire brigade, police and volunteers helped passengers as they waded through the floodwaters near Linkataw Village in Myaing Township from morning to afternoon.
The floodwaters on the Pathein-Monywa Road between Kyikan Village and Linkataw Village destroyed a culvert, and the road.
After the floodwaters receded in the afternoon, local authorities repaired the road and small vehicles were able to use the road in the evening. — Aung Kyaw Myint
