Two killed in 22-wheeler truck accident

A 22-wheeler truck plunged into the roadside cliff while coming down along the PyinOoLwin-Mandalay Road in PyinOoLwin Township, Mandalay Region on 22 August, the Fire Services Department stated.
Around 1:07 pm on 22 August, the 22-wheeler truck was unable to control its speed and overturned in the cliff, located near the Mile Post 25 of the PyinOoLwin-Mandalay Road. The Fire Services Department declared that the driver and a companion died at the scene.
Firefighters from the Central Fire Academy, PyinOoLwin District Fire Station and Yadanabon satellite Town Fire Station, and social welfare associations came to the rescue at the scene and conveyed the dead bodies of two victims to the PyinOoLwin Public Hospital by the PyinOoLwin funeral services’ vehicle. Over 3,533 car accidents occurred from January to July 2022 nationwide, leaving over 1,730 dead and 4,841 injured. — TWA/GNLM
