The Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) appointed U Kyi Lwin as the head of youth scouting, responsible for identifying the next generation of male and female national football players, starting from 10 September. U Ayine made the above statement following this appointment.
U Kyi Lwin will oversee scouting activities, including identifying young talents from various league competitions, MFF U-15 and U-17 league matches, and age-group tournaments. He will also lead the selection process for the annual youth and academy players and the outstanding young talents from regional and state youth competitions.
U Kyi Lwin has had significant success in football, having coached Myanmar’s U-23 team to a silver medal in the 2015 SEA Games. He also served as the assistant coach for the Myanmar national team when they won the 2006 Merdeka Cup. He has worked with senior coaches in ASEAN youth competitions, contributing to the success of Myanmar’s youth teams. Additionally, he served as an assistant coach for the Myanmar national team alongside foreign coaches and led Magway FC in the Myanmar National League.
As a professional player, U Kyi Lwin played for Perak FC, a Malaysian club, winning the Malaysia FA Cup, and also played as a professional in China. — TWA/KZL
